On May 3rd 2019 I went to the ER thinking I had pneumonia. I couldn't breathe. I was losing air. I was intubated. Over the course of 10 days I was in induced paralysis and an induced coma. The attending hematologist monitoring me said "what happened to you, people don't typically survive." I've been given a second chance at life. What had happened: my lungs hemorrhaged, filling with blood. I couldn't breathe on my own. Nothing was working and I was fading. It took three separate medical teams to save my life. The standing theory is I have an auto immune disease that effects less than 200,000 people a year called Anti Phospholipid Syndrome -- but, the doctor's don't actually know. This series will follow my story as it progresses.
